YEREVAN, June 17. /ARKA/. Considering that the attendance of Yerevan kindergartens after the resumption of their work is extremely low (6-7%), as well as the increase in cases of infection with the coronavirus among employees, the Yerevan municipality has proposed the commandant to temporarily suspend the work of preschools from June 20, Hakob Karapetyan, spokesman for the metropolitan administration, wrote on his Facebook page.

“Until May 20 - the date of the resumption of kindergartens, according to the results of the polls it was expected that we will have attendance up to 30%. However, after opening in the first days, attendance was about 10%, which over the past few weeks fell to 6-7%. It is proposed that one or two kindergartens will operate centrally in each administrative district," he wrote.

At the same time, Karapetyan expressed hope that as a result of the collective struggle against the pandemic, the work of preschool institutions will return to normal as soon as possible.

A state of emergency in order to suppress the spread of coronavirus was declared in Armenia on March 16, 2020, and then extended three times. Thus, according to the decision of the government of June 12, the state of emergency is valid in Armenia until 17:00 on July 13.

According to the latest official report issued on Wednesday, June 17, there were 18,033confirmed COVID-19 cases, 6,571 recovered patients and 302 deaths in Armenia. -0---
