Yerevan municipality provides social assistance to 21 homeless people in January and February 2015

YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. Yerevan's municipality provided social assistance to 21 homeless people in January and February 2015, the press office of the municipality reported on Tuesday. 

Under the program, temporary shelter and social assistance are given to the homeless. As a result of the municipality’s work, social assistance was provided to 21 homeless people in January and February 2015. 

Of them, 14 were taken to temporary asylums and two others with mental problems were sent to mental hospitals. 

Taking into considerations peculiarities of the program, the city authorities cooperate with law enforcement agencies and with professional social institutions. 

Now 98 people live in a temporary shelter of Hans Christian Kofoed Charitable Foundation in Yerevan's Vardashen district. Ten of these people were recently freed from penitentiary facilities. ---0---
