The Yerevan Municipality has resumed a major repair of the Kievyan Bridge, Tigran Geghamyan, head of Municipality’s Construction and Improvement Department, said today.

YEREVAN, February 19. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality has resumed a major repair of the Kievyan Bridge, Tigran Geghamyan, head of Municipality’s Construction and Improvement Department, said today.

He said the first stage of the repair halted because of weather conditions was resumed on February 18.

According to him, now the basalt staircases are being dismantled and replaced with new ones. Geghamyan said the second stage will start after the financial agreement is signed, presumably later this year.

According to the Municipality's estimates, the repair of the bridge will last about 2 years and will cost 502 million drams (almost $1.25 million).

Kievyan Bridge, 351 meters long, 60 meters high and 20 meters wide, was opened in 1956 and has been repaired 2 times since then - in 1980s and 2000s.--0--
