Yerevan municipality to buy modern buses
YEREVAN, April 21. /ARKA/. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan posted on his Facebook page the photos of new buses that will run soon in the Armenian capital city.
“These are the new buses that will transport passengers in our city. I have already reported that today I signed an agreement for the purchase of 161 new 8.5-meter long city buses,” he said.
The mayor said that the CNG green line buses will be supplied by the Chinese Zhong Tong company.
According to the mayor, the new buses meet modern European standards, in particular, they are equipped with air conditioners, LED displays and special devices for people with disabilities.
"The delivery of buses will be carried out within 6 months," Marutyan wrote, adding that the transport reform is being carried out in accordance with the planned schedule.
Earlier it was reported that in the current year the municipality will terminate the operation of about 400 minibuses.
Currently, there are 900 minibuses transporting passengers in the city. Under a new public transport scheme, there will be 845 buses and 101 trolleybuses. -0-
