He said there are several options and one is to build the parking lot in downtown Shahumyan Square. "There is a company that proposed the construction of a 4-storey parking lot in that area. The proposal is under consideration and whether the municipality will agree to it or not will be known in 2-3 months," Hovsepyan said.
According to him, there are also proposals to build large parking lots in front of the mayor's office or in Halabyan Street in Ajapnyak administrative district.
According to Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, the parking lots are to be built by private companies. He added that the municipality will not finance or co-finance them.
“There are two investors who are actively interested in the project. We have already discussed various possibilities and continue discussions, I hope that one of them will implement the project on Shahumyan Square,” Marutyan said.
At the same time, he noted that despite the need to build parking lots, the main task is to solve the problem of public transport, so that Yerevan residents refrain from traveling to the center by personal cars. –0--
