YEREVAN, October 15./ARKA/. Armenian footballers were at the limits of their capacity in the friendly against France’s team, the chief coach of the Armenian national Bernard Challandes said at the after-match press conference.
On Tuesday Armenia’s football team suffered a defeat 0:3 in a friendly against French footballers. Last Saturday October 11 the team played a draw 1:1 against Serbians.
“I knew we would have a very hard game with one of the world’s best teams. I am not surprised at the result, but our guys played within their compass of ability, and created several goal-scoring chances. I am proud of our guys”, Challandes told Novosti-Armenia.
One of the achievements in the matches against Serbians and the French is that the footballers managed to play a team defense and avoid individual defensive actions.
The current standing in the group is Albania and Denmark are the leaders with four points each after two matches. Serbia and Armenia have one point each, but played one and two matches respectively. Portugal is the last in the group with zero points after one game.
The Armenian team will have an away match against Portugal on November 14. --0--
