Ukraine’s Oleksandr Nedovesov wins Ameria Cup tennis tournament

A Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandr Nedovesov has won America Cup tennis tournament in Yerevan, organized by the Tennis Federation of Armenia together with America Group of Companies, the press service of Ameria Group of Companies said. In the final Nedovesov defeated a Russian Stanislav Vovk 4:6, 6:4, 7:5.
YEREVAN, July 14. /ARKA/. A Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandr Nedovesov has won America Cup tennis tournament in Yerevan, organized by the Tennis Federation of Armenia together with America Group of Companies, the press service of Ameria Group of Companies said. In the final Nedovesov defeated a Russian Stanislav Vovk 4:6, 6:4, 7:5.
This was the second tournament funded by Ameria. The goal is to support Armenian sports, as well as a healthy lifestyle. This year’s tournament that is designed for males was held from 9 to 14 July. The prize fund was $15,000.
Tennis got a serious boost in recent years after businessman Harutyun Pambukian was elected president of the Tennis Federation. The Tennis Federation established also Orange Tennis base in line with international standards, which allows holding international tournaments in Armenia.
Young Armenian tennis players participate in various international competitions. Also specialists of the International Tennis Federation conduct workshops and master classes for local coaches and referees, and the Federation, in turn, organizes trainings for hundreds of children from 5 to 8 years.
