Four more electronic resources – yerkramas.org, iranahayer.org, hayinfo.ru and analitika.at.ua have joined Armenia’s first automatic news processing and handling system Mediagid at www.mediagid.am.
YEREVAN, February 15, /ARKA/. Four more electronic resources – yerkramas.org, iranahayer.org, hayinfo.ru and analitika.at.ua have joined Armenia’s first automatic news processing and handling system Mediagid at www.mediagid.am, the project’s coordinator Armen Martirosian told ARKA.
The project was launched last November by All Media closed joint stock company. MediaGid is a system of automatic processing and handling of news items, which are analysed by a special program uniting news and stories on similar topics, divided by categories. News items are provided by partner systems – Armenian mass media, the main principles of the system are timely reporting, accessibility and impartiality.
According to Armen Martirosian, the new members are from Russia, Iran and Ukraine. With their addition the number of the system’s participants has reached 16. Ten more websites have sent applications which are being considered now, he said.
He said some of the members are outside Armenia, and some do not have their own content, but nonetheless a decision was made to admit them because it is important in terms of promoting Armenia’s links with its vast Diaspora and creating a single information filed.
The news aggregator receives about 1200 news items daily in Armenian, Russian and English. The stories are updated daily. The website has a popularity rating index by such categories as people, companies, sport, show business.
Popularity rating is calculated for news in all three languages. The website has also a search engine, a news archives, weather forecasts in 22 Armenian towns, as well as foreign currency exchange rates.
MediaGid has developed a special partnership program for mass media outlets to help them increase and enlarge the number of visits to their resources. The program is open to all information agencies, printed mass media, TV and Radio websites and other online publications.
All Media closed joint stock company was founded in 2010 to help implement venture projects. The company’s interests embrace also Internet marketing, Internet advertisement, PR, development and promotion of websites, context ads, auditing of websites and consulting. -0-
