Armenia to receive €12.9m grant from European Commission to ensure nuclear safety

The Armenian government on Friday approved a draft presidential decree on approval of the financial agreement with the European Commission on strengthening nuclear safety and improving radiation protection and radioactive waste management .
YEREVAN, 27 December. /ARKA/. The Armenian government on Friday approved a draft presidential decree on approval of the financial agreement with the European Commission on strengthening nuclear safety and improving radiation protection and radioactive waste management .
The agreement envisages the allocation of a grant in the amount of 12.9 million euros for improving the safety of the Armenian NPP.
The financial support will be provided for the implementation of a set of measures included in the national action plan developed as a result of the safety self-assessment stress test conducted at the Armenian NPP following the Fukushima accident and which have not yet been implemented.
