Minister: Armenian companies design, develop and assemble super-modern weapon

Armenian military-industrial complex companies have designed, developed, assembled and successfully tested a super-modern weapon, Hakob Arshakyan, Minister of High Technology Industry, said at a press conference on Wednesday.

During a live broadcast last week on Facebook, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about an Armenian weapons that was fully designed, developed and assembled in Armenia. Pashinyan did not disclose details regarding the type of weapon, saying it was a military secret, noting only that the new weapon was successfully tested.
The prime minister described it as 'super-modern', saying an agreement was reached that the defense ministry will place an order.
"I can’t provide details, I’ll only note that this system is based on the most modern high-tech solutions," Arshakyan said.
He noted that the development of that weapon from scratch indicates that Armenia has both the knowledge and design potential.
The minister said that the military-industrial complex of the country has not been affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
"We have entered the active phase of work - numerous contracts have been signed with the Ministry of Defense," Arshakyan said.
Armenia's 2020 budget has earmarked 12.5 billion drams for the Ministry of High Technology Industry to transform Armenia into a high-tech military-industrial country of origin and export. ($ 1 - 499.37 drams). –0—
