NVIDIA's Vice President Discusses Advantages of Establishing $500 Million AI Center in Armenia

YEREVAN, October 13. /ARKA/. The development of a $500 million AI center is set to enhance Armenia's security. Rev Lebaredyan, NVIDIA's Vice President, shared this insight during an interview with ARKA News Agency at the DigiTec-2025 forum in Yerevan.

"If we increase our productivity and become beneficial to other nations, there will be more incentives for them to support Armenia's existence and growth. Historically, Armenia's challenge has been our tendency to seek assistance without offering value in return. Assistance often comes from compassion and an appreciation for our culture, language, and history. However, that is not a sustainable approach," Lebaredyan remarked.

He emphasized that fostering economic relationships and maintaining relevance to others is the most effective strategy for ensuring peace and security. This approach should extend beyond major powers to include all neighboring countries. Achieving lasting peace necessitates generating interest in our stability from even our closest neighbors.

Additionally, he revealed that the thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs that have been installed are available for any AI-related tasks.

"There is an immense demand for computational power across all AI systems utilized by individuals and businesses—OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, xAI with Grok, among others. OpenAI is actively pursuing significant agreements globally to secure access to computing resources. We will be positioned to offer this power to anyone in need, regardless of their location," Lebaredyan stated.

About $500 million data center initiative

The Armenian government, along with NVIDIA, Firebird, and Team Group, is collaborating to establish the most advanced supercomputer and data center in the region, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The $500 million AI data center initiative in Armenia is set to serve as a foundation for innovation, education, science, and entrepreneurship, fostering the growth of both local and international startups, bridging the divide between science and technology, and positioning Armenia as a regional technology hub—a genuine AI center. This endeavor will significantly alter the technological landscape of the region.

The equipment will be sourced from NVIDIA, a prominent global leader in this technology sector, while the newly formed Firebird will manage the data center. Dell is also involved in this initiative. The project is slated for launch in 2026 and will implement thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, establishing infrastructure with a capacity exceeding 100 MW.-0-
