Russia donates mobile lab to Armenian health ministry

The Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) donated a mobile laboratory to the Armenian Ministry of Health.
YEREVAN, November 21. /ARKA/. The Russian Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) donated a mobile laboratory to the Armenian Ministry of Health. The ceremony took place on Saturday at the Center for Reference Laboratory Services in Yerevan.
The laboratory is designed for classical biological and PCR studies in order to identify especially dangerous infectious agents.
The event was attended by Armenian Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan, his Russian counterpart Mikhail Murashko, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova and representatives of the health sector of both countries.
“We have received one more mobile diagnostic and treatment system that will help fight infectious diseases and prevent their spread,” Torosyan said. He thanked Russian colleagues for the invaluable support in the development of the healthcare system in Armenia.
Also, within the framework of assistance programs, Armenia was provided with vaccines, laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
In turn, Popova noted that over the past 5 years, Russia and Armenia have implemented 6 different joint programs in the field of measles and rubella neutralization, HIV / AIDS control, development of international medical and sanitary rules.
"We are working together, trying to do everything so that everything is calm in the common epidemiological space of our two countries," she said.
Russian Health Minister indicated that a large number of patients with combat injuries are a serious challenge for the health care system of Armenia and keeping this situation under control is a real heroism.
