‘’Wings of Tatev’’ cable car in Armenia wins prestigious World Travel Awards for the third time

YEREVAN, November 25 /ARKA/. The ‘’Wings of Tatev’’ cable car in Armenia's Syunik region has once again been awarded one of the most prestigious international tourism honors – the World Travel Award 2024, winning the title of "Best Cable Car in the World" this year, the press service of the cable car announced on Facebook.

The Tatev cable car has been recognized as the best in the world, for the third time, surpassing competitors from Bolivia, Brazil, Vietnam, Canada, New Zealand, the United States, and South Africa. Previously, the ‘’Wings of Tatev’’ secured Armenia's victory in this category in 2023 and 2021.

"Winning such a prestigious award for the third consecutive year is evidence that Armenia has a unique, world-class tourism infrastructure. It contributes to the development of the region and its tourism potential, while also introducing guests to the vast spiritual and cultural heritage of the Armenian people," the statement said.

 "Wings of Tatev" is the longest reversible passenger cable car in the world, listed in the Guinness World Records. Another achievement of the Armenian aerial route is also recognized there – the shortest construction period for such a large-scale engineering project (10 months). The project, implemented within the framework of the "Tatev Revival" program launched by Ruben Vardanyan and Veronika Zonabend, is non-profit, with all profits directed towards the restoration of the Tatev Monastery and the development of the local community. The project is managed by Impulse Business Management. 

The World Travel Awards are considered one of the most prestigious international honors in the travel industry, recognizing outstanding achievements in travel, tourism, and hospitality since 1993. Often referred to as the "Oscars" of tourism, they are awarded to the best projects in the industry for their commitment to excellence, exceptional service, and innovation. -0-
