YEREVAN, July 13. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided today to open new public beaches on the shores of Lake Sevan, raising their total number to eight.

Armenian Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan said that the beaches will be accessible to everyone and will be located in the territory of Sevan National Park.

"Three of them are already operating, and work is underway to open four more. We hope that two of them will become available to population this year," he said.

Simidyan emphasized that free services are available at public beaches, and paid services are additionally available. He drew attention to the fact that smoking, loud music are not allowed, but soft alcoholic drinks are allowed at the beaches.

Four new beaches will be established near the communities of Lchap, Shoghakat, Gavar and Martuni. The public beaches will be provided with free services (entrance, changing rooms, public toilets, medical center, rescue service, playgrounds for children, etc.).
