Syunik Traditions festival to feature southern Armenia

The bulk of communities in the southern Armenian province of Syunik will take part in the “Syunik Traditions" festival, which will be held in the town of Goris on August 12, Mekhak Apresyan, head of an Armenian ministry of economy department in charge of tourism, said at a news conference today.

The bulk of communities in the southern Armenian province of Syunik will take part in the “Syunik Traditions" festival, which will be held in the town of Goris on August 12, Mekhak Apresyan, head of an Armenian ministry of economy department in charge of tourism, said at a news conference today.
He said the visitors may participate in the distillation of vodka, and learn how doshab, a nourishing juice made by boiling grape or mulberry, is prepared, as well as taste and buy other traditional dishes.
Nune Manukyan, the director of "Areni Festival" foundation, added that the Syunik Festival is a great opportunity for citizens of Armenia to have a good rest at home.
"Our festivals contribute to the development and popularization of communities. The purpose of this event is to show the traditions of Syunik region", Manukyan said.
The event is organized by the "Festival Armenia" foundation in cooperation with the city of Goris and with the assistance of the Armenian ministry of economy. The first festival "Syunik Traditions" was organized in Goris in 2014.-0--
