UNDP to assist in development of rural tourism in Armenia

The UNDP and the Armenian Development Fund have signed a cooperation agreement to promote Armenia’s rural tourism industry and enhance the role of tourism in social and economic development of the country’s communities, the press service of the United Nations’ office in Armenia reported on Friday.

The UNDP and the Armenian Development Fund have signed a cooperation agreement to promote Armenia’s rural tourism industry and enhance the role of tourism in social and economic development of the country’s communities, the press service of the United Nations’ office in Armenia reported on Friday.
Bradley Busetto, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative for Armenia, said the cooperation will ensure productivity of joint steps.
Arman Khachatryan, Executive Director of the Armenian Development Fund, on his side, said that a tourism development program is being implemented now in Bjni, Kotayk province, as part of cooperation with the UNDP. Its successful implementation, he said, will set an example for similar initiative. ---0
