HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC joins WWF’s earth hour 2009 with 400 workers

HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC and its 400 employees joined the “Earth Hour 2009” initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the bank’s press-service told ARKA News Agency.
YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC and its 400 employees joined the “Earth Hour 2009” initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the bank’s press-service told ARKA News Agency.

HSBC Bank Armenia joined millions of businesses, individuals and families worldwide by switching off the lights for one hour. HSBC’s offices in more than 40 countries also supported the action.

HSBC is a socially responsible organization that proactively and continually promotes ideas of the environment among its workers and colleagues.

Education is the other main focus of corporate sustainability in HSBC. Eight hundred children from socially vulnerable families benefit from $150,000 three-year grants issued to Junior Achievement of Armenia (JAA) and Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) under the Future First Program of HSBC’s Global Education Trust Fund.

In January 2009 HSBC was named the most ethical company, according to the survey of Geneva-based Covalence research consultancy company held in 541multinational organizations in 18 sectors.

HSBC Bank Armenia was registered in 1996. HSBC Group holds 70% of shares of HSBC Bank Armenia, with 30% of shares belonging to Armenian investor abroad.  –0--
