Ameriabank expects its loan portfolio to surge to $1 billion by the end of 2016

Ameriabank expects its loan portfolio to surge to the equivalent of $1 billion by the end of the outgoing year, Gagik Sahakyan,  Ameriabank director for corporate clients, said today.

YEREVAN, November 25. /ARKA/. Ameriabank expects its loan portfolio to surge to the equivalent of $1 billion by the end of the outgoing year, Gagik Sahakyan,  Ameriabank director for corporate clients, said today. Speaking at a news conference he said at this moment the loan portfolio of the bank is estimated at 410 billion Armenian drams. 

“We will try to increase this figure to 480 billion drams by  the end of the year that will make the equivalent of $1 billion," - he said.

According to him, these figures  suggest that Ameriabank’s treatment of customers and the quality of its services are competitive, allowing  it to increase its loan portfolio, mainly due to high-quality customers. Sahakyan also said that the volume of the bank’s loan portfolio increased by 100 billion drams from the beginning of the year.

According to Ameriabank's retail operations director Arman Barseghyan, in  the first ten months of this year the retail loan portfolio of the bank grew by 35%, with the share of loans provided to SMEs increasing by 55%. "At the moment, the retail portfolio of Ameriabank is worth about $120 million,", - he explained.

Ameriabank is a universal bank providing investment, corporate and retail banking services in a comprehensive package of banking solutions. It is the first investment bank in Armenia, which has been providing a wide range of innovative banking services since 2008.

The assets of the bank in the first 9 months of 2016 amounted to 524.1 billion drams (1.6% growth from the beginning of the year), its liabilities grew by 1.27% to 462.3 billion drams and  the capital rose by 4.13%  to  61.7 billion drams. In the reporting period of time the bank earned also 3.5 billion drams in profit. ($ 1 - 479.40 drams). -0-
