YEREVAN, November 29. /ARKA/. Ameriabank plans to attract some $70 million worth loans from international lending institutions in the coming months, Ameriabank CEO Artak Hanesyan said today.

In his words, the bank has already attracted some $300 million worth loans from international lending organizations over several years to finance projects in agriculture, agricultural processing, SMEs and energy.

‘All these funds were successfully placed to have contributed to the development of companies and creation of new jobs,’ he told a news conference.

He said the planned agreements will be signed both with organizations, which have been collaborating with Ameriabank as well as newcomers to the Armenian market.

Hanesyan noted that Ameriabank specialists regularly assess market. "We have to note with regret that the demand for loans has decreased over the last year, but we always look to the future", - said Hanesyan., adding, however, that despite this trend the bank expects intensification of the market and increased demand next year.

Last week Gagik Sahakyan, Ameriabank director for corporate clients, said the bank expects its loan portfolio to surge to the equivalent of $1 billion by the end of the outgoing year. 

Ameriabank is a universal bank providing investment, corporate and retail banking services in a comprehensive package of banking solutions. It is the first investment bank in Armenia, which has been providing a wide range of innovative banking services since 2008.

The assets of the bank in the first 9 months of 2016 amounted to 524.1 billion drams (1.6% growth from the beginning of the year), its liabilities grew by 1.27% to 462.3 billion drams and the capital rose by 4.13% to 61.7 billion drams. In the reporting period of time the bank earned also 3.5 billion drams in profit. ($ 1 - 479.40 drams). -0-
