Armenia to host prestigious wine tasting competition "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026"
YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. The renowned international wine competition, the "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026," is set to take place in Armenia in 2026.
During a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government sanctioned a budget of 883.76 million drams (over $2.3 million) for organizing the event. Of this amount, 684 million drams will be sourced from the 2026 state budget, while the rest will be provided by sponsors and international partners.
The government's proposal highlights that hosting the "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles" will enhance Armenia's global recognition and promote the growth of its winemaking industry. Armenia was in competition with Georgia, Romania, and Moldova to secure the hosting rights for the 2026 event.
Vinopres S.A., which has entered into a contract with the government, will cover around 250 million drams, which includes partial funding for transportation and accommodation for the 400 participants, as well as equipment and the organizational team's expenses.-0-
