Arthur Abraham Sports Complex will be built in Yerevan at a cost of 2.3 billion drams
YEREVAN, April 20. /ARKA/. On Monday, the cornerstone for a children's and youth sports complex named after the famous boxer Arthur Abraham was laid in Yerevan.
The complex is being constructed in the Shengavit administrative district, with a total project cost of 2.3 billion drams.
After the project was presented, Arthur Abraham and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who attended the ceremony, signed a message intended for future generations, which was then placed in a time capsule and embedded in the foundation of the complex.
The Prime Minister expressed his assurance that the facility will be completed on schedule and to a high standard. He emphasized that the government's policy focuses on supporting athletes who have achieved international recognition, fostering sports development in the country, and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
The sports complex is expected to feature two buildings: one underground and three above ground. The first building will include multi-purpose training halls, boxing and wrestling areas, locker rooms, saunas, medical offices, massage rooms, and administrative spaces. The second building will contain a basketball court, as reported by the Armenian government's press service.
The land designated for the sports school was purchased by Arthur Abraham several years ago, with project funding provided by the government. ($1 = 373.34 drams). -0-
