Armenia may become a real economic platform for Iran, Swiss ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasser, told a news conference today.
YEREVAN, February 10. /ARKA/. Armenia may become a real economic platform for Iran, Swiss ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasser, told a news conference today.
According to him, the lifting of sanctions against Iran has opened up broad economic opportunities, and in this context, Armenia has become very interesting to other countries as a possible area for cooperation.
"Armenia today has great potential to become a platform for many countries wishing to establish economic relations with Iran, but until then, the official Yerevan itself should strengthen and develop trade relations with Tehran," said Gasser.
He noted that Switzerland could benefit from such a platform as well, despite having direct contacts with Iran and even acting as a representative of US interests in its diplomatic missions in the Islamic Republic. -0-
