YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. Armavia, Armenia’s national air company, reported today about an groundless delay of a flight from Yerevan by Beirut, RIA Novosti reports.
The national carrier said that its aircraft has no technical problems, that it underwent C-check and just arrived in Yerevan from abroad.
“Beirut is not accepting the aircraft illegally, and the information about its technical unfitness is false,” Armavia’s press office reports.
Nana Avetisova, press secretary of the company, said Armenia’s Chief Aviation Department is now searching for ways out of the situation, and Armavia expects solution to this problem will be found and the aircraft with passengers will take off from the Yerevan airport.
She also said that Armavia will demand Beirut to pay a penalty for this illegal delay.
C-check is more complicated technical service than previous A-chek and B-chek. It implies examination of an aircraft every 15 to 20 months or after every 4,000 flight hours. -0-
