Armenia’s foreign trade in January-November 2015 shrinks by 20.6% to $4.313.6 billion

Armenia’s foreign trade in January-November 2015 shrank by 20.6% when compared to the same time span of 2014 to about $4.313.6 billion, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

YEREVAN, January 13. / ARKA /. Armenia’s foreign trade in January-November 2015 shrank by 20.6% when compared to the same time span of 2014 to about $4.313.6 billion, according to the numbers, released today by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

Exports decreased by 4.7% to about $1.345.2 billion, while imports slashed by 26.2% to $2.968.4 billion. The resulting trade deficit amounted to $1.623.2 billion. According to preliminary data, the negative trade balance in FOB prices stood at $1.166.1 billion.

According to official data, Armenia's foreign trade with several former Soviet republics making the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) dropped by 16% to $1.297.4 billion (30.1% of the total foreign trade); trade with Russia fell by almost 14% to $1.111.2 billion, trade with Ukraine slashed by 36.5% to $118.5 million and trade with Belarus grew by 2.4% to about $37.3 million. 

Armenia’s trade with EU countries dropped by 24.7% to $1.100.3 billion (25.5% of the total foreign trade), while trade with other countries declined by 21% to $1.915.7 million (44.4% of the total).

According to statistics, exports of mineral products grew by 21.5% to about $424 6 million; exports of finished food products declined by 11.5% to $273.8 million and exports of non-precious metals and products shrank by 23.6% to about $211 million. 

At the same time, imports of mineral products declined by 18.7% to  about $626 million; imports of machinery, equipment and mechanisms plummeted by 32.2% to $356.5 million; imports of finished food products fell by 12% to $293.1 million and imports of chemical products fell by 16.2% to $265.9 million.  ($ 1 - 483.67 drams). - 0-
