YEREVAN, December 12 . /ARKA/. Armenia’s government made a decision at its Thursday’s meeting saying Armenia’s ministry of economy will coordinate all international air service agreements of the country.

Armenia’s minister of economy Vahram Avanesyan said, in presenting the draft decree, the ministry will be the agency developing amendments to current air transport agreements with other countries and negotiating about new agreements.

The ministry is also empowered to involve the country’s chief civil aviation department in it.

The minister said the decision is made as part of Armenia’s “open air” policy.

On June 6 Armenian government approved a stage-by-stage liberalization strategy for air transport sector. On October 23 a program of competitive and uninterrupted air service in Armenia was approved, based on a joint study by McKinsey & Company and Armenia’s National Competitiveness Foundation. –0--
