Aremnia’s President Serzh Sargsyan visited Monday Zangezur Copper- Molybdenum Combine exploiting the largest copper and molybdenum deposit in the country.
KADZHARAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Aremnia’s President Serzh Sargsyan visited Monday Zangezur Copper- Molybdenum Combine exploiting the largest copper and molybdenum deposit in the country.
The company’s shareholders are German “Croniment Mining” ( 60%), Pure Iron Plant OJSC (15%), “Armenian Molybdenum Production” Ltd. (12.5%), “Zangezur Mining” Ltd. (12.5%).
The company expects to process 17 million tons of ore in 2012 against 15 million tons of ore in 2011.
Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine produced 90 thousand tons of copper concentrate containing 26.5% of copper in average, and 9.1 thousand tons of molybdenum concentrate containing 49% of copper in 2011.
The Combine anticipates to produce nearly 120 thousand tons of copper and over 10 thousand tons of molybdenum concentrates this year.
After installing the biggest ore grinding mill the enterprise increased this process productivity by 40-50% to 1.1 thousand tons per hour or 8 million tons per year.
There are also new industrial buildings, water pipelines, high voltage power lines on the enterprise.
Investments in the construction, that involved nearly 300 workers, totaled in nearly 10.6 billion drams, and nearly 18 billion drams were injected into equipment purchase.
As a result of the mill exploitation, 150 people received jobs with an average salary of 250 thousand drams. Total of 3,300 employees, whose average salary is 287 thousand drams, work in the combine. ($1 – 392.55 drams). -0-
