Armenia's trade turnover in 2 months grows by 8.2 percent –NSC

YEREVAN, April 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's trade turnover in January-February 2022 amounted to 489.5 billion drams (in current prices), an increase of 8.2% compared to the same period of 2021, according to the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
It said the trade turnover in February 2022 grew to 258.7 billion drams, an increase of 5.3% compared to February 2021, and 11.9% growth compared to January 2022.
The retail trade in January-February 2022 amounted to 216.2 billion drams ( 44.2% of the total), a 1.5% growth compared to the same period last year, while wholesale trade upped by 10.2% to 251.9 billion drams making 51.4% of the total.
Car sales grew by 85% to 21.5 billion drams- - 4.4% of the total. Stores accounted for 78.8% of the total retail turnover worth 170.5 billion drams, a 3.9% growth from the first two months of 2021.
Consumer goods markets declined by 10.2% to about 10.2 billion drams, agricultural markets dropped by 8% to about 2 billion drams, kiosks dropped by 7.8% to about 3.5 billion drams, while other trade facilities dropped by 4.6% to 30.3 billion drams. (4.6%). ($1 - 481.59 drams) -0-
