YEREVAN, April 30. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a Yerevan meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) that Armenia’s trade with other EEU member countries is on the rise.

He said the share of Armenia’s exports to EEU countries in 2018 grew to 28.5%, growing by 20%, and the trade with EEU member countries grew by more than 11%.

According to Pashinyan, Armenia is a dynamically developing country with political stability and predictability. He said after shifting to parliamentary form of governance, the level of accountability of the government and the transparency of its activities have increased and there is now a more effective  system of checks and balances.

He said all this is happening against the background of the maturing democratic institutions, the civil society and fundamental freedoms.

"Our government today has a high degree of legitimacy and an unprecedented level of public trust, which is very obligatory, but at the same time it inspires bold steps and dedicated work for the good of our people and the country," said Pashinyan.

He said also that the priorities of the government are in complete harmony with the philosophy laid down in the foundations of the EEU.

"We consider Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union as one of the tools for achieving the goals and objectives of our government and as one of the factors ensuring economic growth," said Pashinyan. -0-
