YEREVAN, March 2. /ARKA/. The Armenian authorities have long-term goals in the economy, Eduard Sharmazanov, the parliament vice-speaker and a member of the executive board of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, declared on Friday in the context of the recent meeting at Serzh Sargsyan, Armenian president.

Referring to official statistical reports, he said that Armenia recorded the highest economic growth in several previous years – about 7.5%.

The Armenian president, he said, has instructed appropriate agencies to ensure a similar economic growth in the next years, to make its effect visible to ordinary citizens in a few years.

In his opinion, the authorities’ efforts to outline long-term, not short-term programs show that they don’t live from election to election, but they look farther.

According to the National Statistical Service, Armenia’s economy grew 7.5% in 2017, and the country’s GDP amounted to about $11.5 billion (the then exchange rate was 482.72 Armenian drams per one US dollar). --0---
