YEREVAN, February 15. /ARKA/. Armenian exporters will soon be able to register with the online retailer Wildberries without intermediaries and make direct sales, Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Teryan told ARKA news agency.

"Negotiations are underway but I can't give any exact dates yet," he said.

Teryan said that the move will allow Armenian producers to enter international markets where Wildberries operates.

According to Wildberries, sales of Armenian producers' goods on Wildberries amount to about $8mln annually. The platform plans to make large-scale investments in Armenia and build new logistics and sorting centers.

Wildberries founder and CEO Tatiana Bakalchuk visited Armenia in late December 2021 to discuss prospects of e-commerce development with Armenian officials and the possibilities of exporting products of local producers to international markets.

Wildberries is the largest online retailer in Russia, operating since 2004. It is present in 17 countries: all of Russia, Armenia, USA, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belarus, Kazakhstan and others. Wildberries' turnover in 2020 reached 437.2 billion rubles (+ 96% year on year).

The Wildberries list of goods includes almost 4 million products of more than 30 thousand Russian and foreign brands: clothing and footwear, accessories, beauty products, children's products, appliances and electronics, household goods, jewelry, food, books and much more. --0--
