Armenian exports of fruits and vegetables surge by 68 percent

As of August 21, Armenia’s exports of fresh fruits and vegetables amounted to 121,295 metric tons, according to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture.

YEREVAN, August 21. /ARKA/. As of August 21, Armenia’s exports of fresh fruits and vegetables amounted to 121,295 metric tons, according to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture. It said when compared to the same time span of 2017, exports surged by 49,000 metric tons, or 67.7%, exceeding last year’s total exports by 444 tons.
The ministry said exports of apricots this year saw an unprecedented growth. To date, 51,594 tons of that fruit have been exported, by 23,120 tons or 81.2% more than in 2017.
Armenian fruits and vegetables are exported to Russia -about 114, 603 tons or 94.5% of the total. The rest was are to Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Belgium, Romania, Macedonia, Kuwait, Qatar and the USA. -0-
