Armenian farmers to take part in first Caucasian Dairy Congress in Tbilisi

Farmers from Armenia will take part in the first Caucasian Dairy Congress, scheduled to take place in the framework of the Eastern European Dairy Congress on March 14-15 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.

YEREVAN, February 24. /ARKA/. Farmers from Armenia will take part in the first Caucasian Dairy Congress, scheduled to take place in the framework of the Eastern European Dairy Congress on March 14-15 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The event is a joint initiative of the EBRD, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine.
More than 200 farmers and dairy companies from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and other countries in Europe and Central Asia, as well as potential investors, international organizations and government representatives are expected to attend the Congress.
The participants of the event will be able to get acquainted with the most advanced technologies and business approaches in the development of dairy farming on practical examples and on the basis of the experience gained in the region by farmers and associations of milk producers.
Owners and successful farm experts from Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and other countries will share the secrets of their success. Some of them already receive more than 10 thousand liters of milk from a cow per year, which is quite real for Georgia as well.
The preliminary results of a joint project implemented by FAO and EBRD called "Improving food safety in the dairy sector of Georgia through the transfer of knowledge" and the recommendations for the further development of Georgia's dairy business will be announced in Tbilisi.
On the second day – March 15 –the participants of the event will visit several local dairy farms, which successfully implement modern milk production technology.
The Caucasian International Dairy Congress is a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge and technologies for farmers and other dairy businesses in the region, interested in the development of modern dairy farming. -0-
