Armenian food safety watchdog suspends operation of Bandivan dairy and meat company

YEREVAN, July 23. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Food Safety Inspectorate has ordered the Bandivan Kat LLC, a company producing dairy and meats products in Shirak province, to suspend operation.
The Food Safety Inspectorate said the decision comes after its provincial inspectors checked the company’s workshops revealing a long string of violations committed in production of dairy (cheese) and meat products. Breaches were also revealed in the company’s slaughterhouses, livestock and pig farms, located in the Bandivan village.
In particular, the equipment for production of dairy products was rusty, salt water pools for aging cheese, the walls of the workshop and its floor were covered with mold, the technological process in the production of meat products was not organized in such a way as to exclude the counter flow of raw materials and semi-finished products with finished products.
The Food Safety Inspectorate said also that there were no washstands, bathroom and changing rooms for staff in both workshops.
The Food Safety Inspectorate said the company was given a deadline to eliminate the identified shortcomings. - 0--
