Armenian SRC shuts down illegal sand quarry (video)
YEREVAN, August 5. /ARKA/. Acting on a tip Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has shut down al sand quarry that had been operating illegally in the village of Getashen in Armavir province.
According to the investigators, a resident of Yerevan had acquired 2 hectares of agricultural land near Getashen community and instead of growing agricultural produces he excavated sand and sold it without a mining license and registration with the tax bodies.
The citizen had organized illegal extraction of sand with the use of vehicles rented from different economic entities mainly in the evening hours.
The investigators estimated the damage at 16 thousand cubic meters with the total value of approximately 39 million AMD.
The State Revenue Committee said a criminal case has been launched ($1 - 405.95 AMD). -0-
