The construction of an airport in Stepanavan in Lori region of Armenia will be completed by the end of this year, deputy emergency minister Haykaram Mkhitaryan said today.

YEREVAN, May 26. / ARKA /. The construction of an airport in Stepanavan in Lori region of Armenia will be completed by the end of this year, deputy emergency minister Haykaram Mkhitaryan said today.

Speaking at a parliament session considering the performance of last year’s budget, he specified that the construction of the airport building is expected to be over in two months. He added that the builders have repaired also the runway.

He noted that the work is carried out in accordance with the established deadlines. He did not say how much the government has released for this project.

Mkhitaryan said once the Stepanavan airport is commissioned, they will start rehabilitation of another airport in Kapan, in the southern region of Syunik. He said the plan is to revive the so-called small aviation in Armenia. -0-
