The German Economic Association (DWV - Deutsche Wirtschafts Vereinigung) inaugurated April 12 its Yerevan office.
YEREVAN, April 13. /ARKA/. The German Economic Association (DWV - Deutsche Wirtschafts Vereinigung) inaugurated April 12 its Yerevan office. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Germany’s ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler said the main purpose of DWV is to represent the interests of German companies in the Armenian market.
DWV has been present in Armenia since 2013 through its office in Tbilisi, Georgia. According to the ambassador, now the Armenian-German cooperation will be more complete.
"By opening DWV office in Yerevan, we want to show the importance of Armenia as a partner, including in the field of trade and economic relations," Kiesler said.
According to him, the presence of DWV office in Armenia will be instrumental in providing German entrepreneurs with full information on the Armenian market and economic outlooks, as well as to inform Armenian businessmen about the possibility of entering the German market.
According to the National Statistical Service, Germany’s investments in Armenia in 2015 amounted to 26.8 billion drams. Armenia's foreign trade turnover with Germany in January-February 2016 declined by 9.7% year-on-year to $39.6 million. ($ 1 - 483.79 drams). -0-
