Exports of fruits and vegetables this year grow to 1,313 tons

Exports of fresh Armenian fruits and vegetables as of January 18 amounted to 1,313 tons, up from 539 tons exported in the same period of 2014, the press service of the ministry of agriculture said today.

YEREVAN, January 18. /ARKA/. Exports of fresh Armenian fruits and vegetables as of January 18 amounted to 1,313 tons, up from 539 tons exported in the same period of 2014, the press service of the ministry of agriculture said today.
Particularly, 259 tons of cucumbers and 197 tons of tomatoes were exported. It is noteworthy that in the same period in 2014 only two tons of tomatoes were exported.
Exports of potato this year amounted to 294 tons, up from 6 tons in the same period of 2014; exports of apples grew to 184 tons from 3 tons and exports of grapes grew to 135 tons from 116 tons.
Fresh fruit and vegetables were exported mainly to Russia, Georgia and Switzerland. -0-
