From Dream to Goal: Ohanyan Brandy Company (video)
YEREVAN, November 22. /ARKA/. The Ohanyan Brandy Company produces alcoholic beverages from natural fruits preserving national traditions.
The company is one of the first family enterprises created in independent Armenia in 1998 on the basis of a wine and brandy factory founded in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) back in 1922.
The founder of the company wanted to tell the world about Artsakh: the production was started with mulberry, which is the symbol of Artsakh. Later on the company began producing other fruit vodkas. It has created a unique technology for aging fruit vodkas according to a special technology.
In 2018, the factory started production of cognacs; the cellars for aging cognac and fruit spirits were expanded.
In 2023 Ohanyan Brandy Company opened a new factory in Yerevan and continued its work here. Acba Leasing became its partner in Yerevan, with the support of which it was replenished wit the most modern equipment, the press service of Acba Bank reported.
"Our company is the first company that started producing strong alcoholic fruit drinks. Actually we became the locomotive of the growing production of strong alcoholic fruit drinks in Armenia. Our fruit drinks are called "Artsakh". Our barrels are made from Artsakh oak; in our workshop we use only Artsakh oak because it has excellent organoleptic properties. We have already planted vineyards in Armenia and also brought here pomegranates, apples, apricots ... Everything that was possible, we brought to Armenia from Artsakh, so that they germinate in the homeland, so that our history continue. The Yerevan factory was established in 2023 and is equipped with modern production lines. The latter were acquired through cooperation with Acba Leasing. The factory’s flow line is provided specifically for our factory, so we can boast of having a modern flow line. The plant also cares about the environment, for this purpose the latest technologies are used, such as solar power plants, electric elevators, electric hand trucks," said Ohanyan Brandy Company Director Edward Aghumyan.
The first Armenian organic wheat vodka produced by the company is widely recognized in the Armenian Diaspora. Ohanyan Brandy Company sells its drinks in the USA, Japan, China, Russia and European countries.
Acba Bank is a 100% shareholder of Acba Leasing, which is overseen by the Central Bank of Armenia. -0-
