Gross median salary in Armenia grows by 2.6% to 186,698 drams

The gross median monthly salary in Armenia totaled 186,698 drams in 2016 April (the equivalent of $388 dollars or 25,823 Russian rubles), which was 2.6% more than in April of the previous year, according to the latest data, released by the National Statistical Service (NSS).

The gross median monthly salary in Armenia totaled 186,698 drams in 2016 April (the equivalent of $388 dollars or 25,823 Russian rubles), which was 2.6% more than in April of the previous year, according to the latest data, released by the National Statistical Service (NSS).
In March 2016 the median gross monthly salary across the country was 185,477 drams, by about 3.1% more than in March 2015.
The highest gross median monthly salary in 2016 March was reported by the southern Syunik region- about 219,000 drams, while the lowest salary was in Aragatsotn region - about 129,500 drams. In the capital city Yerevan it was 185,500 drams.
The highest salaries were boasted by financial and insurance sectors - about 431,500 drams, information and communications -about 369,400 drams and the mining industry – 343,300 drams.
The lowest paid sectors were culture, entertainment and leisure – 114,600 drams, accommodation and catering - 119,300 drams, education – 120,100 drams, agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 125,800 drams.. (1 - 477.99 drams). -0-
