YEREVAN, June 28. /ARKA/. Armenia's trade turnover with China is growing 20-25% annually, however, there is still untapped reserve, the chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia Arsen Ghazaryan told a business gathering today in Yerevan.

According to official data, Armenia's trade turnover with China in 2015 slashed by 18.1% to $481.3 million;  Armenia exports to China declined by 3.3% to $165.3 million, while imports from China fell by 24.2% to $315.9 million.

When asked how he could explain the discrepancy between the official statistics and his figures, Ghazaryan said the official statistics is not quite accurate, since a large chunk of Armenian exports to China are not taken into account.

According to Arthur Yegoryan, the representative of Armenia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, a pavilion of Armenian goods opened in the free trade zone in the town of Ningbo will promote Armenian goods in China.

The pavilion opened June 11 displaying 12 types of drinks, juices and canned food. According to him, Ningbo was chosen for promotion of Armenian goods as it is a large and oldest port in China. -0-
