HSBC Bank Armenia is not against consolidation in Armenia’s banking system

HSBC Bank Armenia has no specific plan for consolidation in the banking system of Armenia, however it is open for new opportunities and will follow them in the case of necessity, HSBC Bank Armenia Chief Executive Officer Astrid Clifford said.
YEREVAN, May 10. /ARKA/. HSBC Bank Armenia has no specific plan for consolidation in the banking system of Armenia, however it is open for new opportunities and will follow them in the case of necessity, HSBC Bank Armenia Chief Executive Officer Astrid Clifford said.
She said earlier today, that the bank is ready to take into account some beneficial offers at the market if they are financially attractive enough and meet HSBC strategy principles.
HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC was the first international bank to open in Armenia in 1996. The bank is a joint venture between the HSBC Group, which has 70 percent ownership, and members of overseas Armenian businesses. The bank offers a wide range of products and services to individual as well as corporate customers, including personal financial services, commercial banking and treasury and capital markets services. Today the bank has over 35 thousand clients among individuals, and nearly 5 thousand- among legal entities.
