Largest slaughterhouse in Armenia opened in Ararat province

The largest slaughterhouse in Armenia opened Wednesday in Masis, Ararat province, the agriculture ministry’s press office reports.

YEREVAN, September 3. /ARKA/. The largest slaughterhouse in Armenia opened Wednesday in Masis, Ararat province, the agriculture ministry’s press office reports.
The opening of this Armenian-Iranian joint business established by the Golden Cleaver Company was attended by Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Raiesi and Ararat Province Governor Rubik Abrahamyan.
The slaughterhouse built on 2,400 square meters is equipped with everything necessary for meat storage. As many as 200 units of cattle can be slaughtered per shift.
Welcoming the guests, Karapetyan stressed the importance of the opening of the slaughterhouse.
«Today the biggest slaughterhouse is commissioned, which will allow increasing meat exports to neighboring countries, and this will contribute to the cattle breeding in our country,» he said.
The minister also stressed that the cattle will be slaughtered by the Muslim rule halal, and this will remove the problem of exporting mutton to Islamic countries.
Ambassador Mohammad Raiesi, on his side, said that Armenian meat products are notable for their high quality and they are highly demanded in Iran.
The ambassador also added that similar facilities may be opened in Armenia's other provinces. --0--
