Minister: 90 percent of debts for purchased fruits and vegetables to be paid by June

Ninety percent of 1.467 billion dram debts Armenian processing companies owe to farmers for purchased fruits and vegetables will be paid until June 2017, agriculture minister Ignaty Arakelyan said today.

YEREVAN, February 16. /ARKA/. Ninety percent of 1.467 billion dram debts Armenian processing companies owe to farmers for purchased fruits and vegetables will be paid until June 2017, agriculture minister Ignaty Arakelyan said today.
He said ministry officials have meetings with representatives of the processing companies every week to get latest information about the process of debt repayment.
According to him, the debt can not be repaid immediately in view of the difficult financial situation of companies. He said about 586 million worth debts will be paid in February, 415 million in March, 160 million drams in April and 218 million drams in May.
Speaking about the unpaid debts of Vinar company, the minister said after taking this issue to the prosecutor's office, the State Revenue Committee has sealed the storehouses of the company where 12,000 deciliters of spirit is kept. He said the company was given a few days to sell the spirit and pay its debts to farmers, which amount to 100 million drams. -0-
