Pashinyan attends opening of new dairy plant in Yerevan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present today at the opening of a company for the production of cheese and other types of dairy products.
YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was present today at the opening of a company for the production of cheese and other types of dairy products. The plant is owned by Spayka agro-holding, the government’s press service reported.
The premier was said to have a tour of the company, which is equipped with modern technologies. As much as $15 million were invested in the construction of the dairy plant, which has 120 workers on its payroll, the government press office said.
The plant can produce the whole range of cheeses with mold. The annual production of the Sambiel brand cheese is to be more than 2000 tons. The products will be sold in Armenia, as well as in the CIS countries and the Middle East.
The plant will annually purchase more than 20 million liters of high-quality milk. The company established a laboratory to check the quality of milk. In the second stage, Spayka will build a second plant together with a Dutch partner to produce high quality semi-dry and dry Dutch and Swiss cheeses.
The total investment will be about $30 million, and the plant's output will increase by more than 6 thousand tons. -0-
