Pashinyan calls for installment of weighing stations on roads
YEREVAN, July 14. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today weigh stations with truck scales should be installed in some roads in the country because of problems caused by overloaded trucks.
"We should definitely have weighing stations in order to be able to direct public investments in due time for proper purposes," he said at a government meeting today.
He said the problem predominantly affects roads used by mining industry's trucks.
"Trucks hauling mining ore can be overloaded, which has a very negative impact on the life of the roads," he said.
Arthur Asoyan, head of the Bureau of Inspection Coordination, said two static truck scales and one mobile scale have been purchased so far. According to him, one of the static scales will be installed on a Sisian section of M2 highway and the second on Ashtarak sectioon of M1 highway.-0-
