Passenger traffic through Armenian airports grow by 9.3 percent in two months

The Zvartnots airport in the Armenian capital Yerevan and the Shirak airport in the second-largest town of Gyumri handled 338,336 passengers in the first two months of 2018, a 9.3% rise when compared to the same time span of 2017, the Main Civil Aviation Administration reported today.

YEREVAN, March 12. /ARKA/. The Zvartnots airport in the Armenian capital Yerevan and the Shirak airport in the second-largest town of Gyumri handled 338,336 passengers in the first two months of 2018, a 9.3% rise when compared to the same time span of 2017, the Main Civil Aviation Administration reported today.
It said in February alone the passenger traffic through both airports grew by 9.5% when compared to the same month in 2017 amounting to 149,159 people.
The passenger traffic through the Zvartnots airport in February amounted to 139,218 people, having grown by 5.4% year-on-year, while the passenger flow in the first two months grew by 5.6%.
Cargo transportation through Zvartnots in January and February 2018 amounted to 2007 tons, down from 2,576 tons in January and February of 2017.
The Main Civil Aviation Administration reported also that the passenger traffic through the Shirak airport in February 2018 amounted to 9,941 people against 4,224 people in the same month last year, while the passenger traffic through the airport in two months of 2018 grew to 20,817 people from 8,848 people. The number of departures and arrivals at Zvartnots and Shirak airports in January 2018 grew by 13.7% compared to the same period in 2017. -0-
