President Sarkissian invites top managers of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to Armenia

Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian, who is in Japan on a working visit, visited today the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, one of the largest industrial and technological companies in the world, and met with Shunichi Mianaga, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Board Chairman.

YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian, who is in Japan on a working visit, visited today the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, one of the largest industrial and technological companies in the world, and met with Shunichi Mianaga, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Board Chairman.
Mianaga was quoted by Sarkissian's press office as saying that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries started as a shipbuilding company, and today it has become one of the largest industrial and technological companies.
Stressing that in a rapidly changing world, human creativity and an idea are set to become the real values, Sarkissian said his desire is that Armenia become a scientific and technological hub.
According to him, some of his initiatives are aimed at development of new technologies based on artificial intelligence, management of large databases and mathematical modeling. He said these are the areas where Japan and Armenia may become partners.
The two men were said also to have discussed mutual partnership, as well as the possibility of applying the advanced technologies and experience of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Armenia.
Sarkissian invited the leadership of the company to visit Armenia to get acquainted with its potential and cooperation opportunities on the spot.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd is a Japanese company, part of the Mitsubishi Group, headquartered in Tokyo. In 2011 the company ranked 273 in the Fortune Global 500. The company is engaged in the production of nuclear energy systems, space systems, aircraft, weapons and military equipment, shipbuilding, and mechanical engineering. -0-
