Regular flights between Yerevan and Kapan to start next week

YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. Starting next week regular flights will be launched between Armenia's capital Yerevan and the town of Kapan, the administrative center of the southern province of Syunik, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said upon the arrival in Kapan today by air.
"Today we have arrived in Kapan by airplane. We believe that we are already ready to launch regular flights,' he said.
The maiden commercial flight will be operated on August 19 on the occasion of Kapan Day, he said.
On April 26 this year, an airplane landed at Kapan airport for the first time in almost 30 years. Kapan's Syunik airport has been renovated according to international criteria and was certified by the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia in 2020.
According to earlier reports, the flights will be operated by L410 passenger plane. -0-
