Regular flights from Russia to Armenia will resume on May 15, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, who is also head of a government task force set up to enforce the state of emergency, said today.

YEREVAN, May 14. /ARKA/. Regular flights from Russia to Armenia will resume on May 15, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, who is also head of a government task force set up to enforce the state of emergency, said today.
"On May 15, regular flights from Russia to Armenia will resume. Armenian citizens who are there will be able to return to homeland, but they will be required to observe the two-week self-isolation regime," he said.
Avinyan said that before today's cabinet session he had talked with representatives of Wizz Air airline on the possibility of resuming flights.
"According to our preliminary assessment, this can be fully implemented during June, depending on the situation and its assessment," he said.
Regarding the opening of land borders, Avinyan said that negotiations with colleagues from neighboring countries have not begun, but in the near future the government will also address these issues.
The government has also allowed today the public transport to resume operation on May 18, as well as trade centers. Also, public catering facilities and gyms will be allowed to provide services indoors.
A 30-day state of emergency to curb the spread of coronavirus was declared in Armeni on March 16 and restrictions were imposed on free movement of citizens. The government banned also some types of economic activity. On April 13, the government extended the state of emergency for another month and on May 4 it lifted the ban on almost all types of economic activity and the free movement of citizens, except for public transport. On May 14, the government has again extended the state of emergency for another 30 days.
According to the latest official data, Armenia's confirmed cases of coronavirus have risen to 3,860; 49 people have died from it and 1,572 patients have recovered. ($ 1 - 487.66 drams). –0-
