Some 70,000 agricultural loans provided this year

Some 70,000 agricultural loans worth 70 billion drams have been provided this year as part of an agriculture financing program, implemented by international financial organizations in cooperation with the Armenian government, the chairman of the Central Bank Arthur Javadyan said last Friday during his final news conference in the outgoing year.

YEREVAN, December 28. / ARKA /. Some 70,000 agricultural loans worth 70 billion drams have been provided this year as part of an agricultural financing program, implemented by international financial organizations in cooperation with the Armenian government, the chairman of the Central Bank Arthur Javadyan said last Friday during his final news conference in the outgoing year.<br>

He said in cooperation with international financial institutions, the Central Bank continued to show assistance to financing the agriculture, tourism, renewable energy and other important economic sectors. <br>

He said this program in 2015 was complemented by another 50 million euro program designed to support SME the government signed with the European Investment Bank. He said there is another agreement to launch a new round of funding in 2016.<br>

He said the Central Bank also subsidized the government's social projects, like providing available mortgage and student loans, as well as low-interest-rate loans to military personnel and young families to improve their housing conditions. -0-<br>
